Indian network Zee Smile announced today a move away from its usual tear-jerking drama programming to a more “tension-free” format. Zee Smile programming director Nitin Vaidya stated that people want to watch fun and entertaining shows after a hard day’s work, and Zee Smile would be changing to appeal to that audience. He also mentioned that a number of prominent television producers have already signed on to the network, and response from advertisers has been strong.
