IBM to Hire 14,000 in India
According to a report in the New York Times, IBM is planning to hire more than 14,000 new employees in India this year, while at the same time cutting a similar number of jobs in the U.S. and Europe. The company, which is already in the process of cutting 10,000-13,000 jobs in the U.S. and Europe, experienced a 45% boost in sales in India last year, and already employs 23,000 in five Indian software development centers. Most of the new hires are expected to be software developers and programmers.
