Cricketer Eknath Solkar Passes Away

Former Test cricketer Eknath Solkar died in Mumbai on Sunday of cardiac failure, at the age of 58. He had been ill for the past four days and died at his home, according to former teammate Dilip Vengsarkar. Solkar was best known for his brilliant close fielding, especially at short leg, and played a large role in the success of the famous Indian spin quartet in the 1970s.
