India accounted for the second highest number of LPRs, or Legal Permanent Residents, to the United States last year according to the U.S. Census Bureau. 70,116 Indians currently make their home in the United States, second to Mexico’s 175,364 and beating out The Philippines and China at third and fourth place respectively. In total, 946,142 people became Legal Permanent Residents of the United States in 2004.
