Aditya Birla chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla has decided to take over the companies owned by his grandfather BK Birla. The news comes after Grasim Industries sold its stake in BK Birla’s Century Enka company to the younger Birla’s TGS Investment & Trade, a sale which sources say is a precursor to the transfer of Century Enka to Aditya Birla. The Aditya Birla group is one of the largest producers of polyester fabric in the world, while Century Anka also manufactures polyester.
