A French footwear company has angered the UK’s Hindu population with a new shoe that features an image of Lord Rama, one of the most revered gods in Hinduism. Despite pleas to remove the shoes from shelves, shoemaker Minelli has not complied. As a result, Hindu Human Rights has staged demonstrations outside the French embassy in Britain, condeming the use of Lord Rama’s image for profit.
