PM Manmohan Singh to Address Congress
Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert announced that Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will address a Joint Session of Congress on July 19th at 10am, during a visit to the United States. The announcement comes after a group of senators led by Hillary Clinton and John Cornyn signed a letter to Speaker Hastert urging him to schedule a joint session for the prime minister. Representative Gary Ackerman said the address will strengthen ties between “the world’s oldest democracy and the world’s largest democracy.”
