Former Chief Minister P.K. Vasudevan Nair died at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi early Tuesday evening, at the age of 79. He was admitted to the AIIMS two weeks ago suffering cardiac and renal complications, and had to be put on a ventilator after his condition worsened. His body will be cremated in Pulluvazhi, his native village in Ernakulum.
