In a telephone conversation released to the Hindustan Times, Salman Khan tried to bullyAishwarya Rai into performing for Abu Salem, seemingly after already telling the don that she would. The conversation happened in August 2001, after the questionably-funded Chori Chori Chupke Chupke had been released, and its financier Bharat Shah had been arrested. Also, Khan and Ash were in a relationship. When Ash doesn’t comply to Khan’s demands, he threatens to have her family killed.
