Suzuki to Release Mini-SUV in India

After the success of the Swift, Suzuki has announced that it will release a cheap mini-SUV to be made in India, China, Japan, and Hungary, priced as low as $15,000. The company has said the new mini-SUV will cost Rs 2,012 crore to develop, and have a two-liter engine, with a worldwide sales target of around 200,000. However, SUV sales in India are dismal, with less than 1,000 units sold a month, which probably won’t help Suzuki achieve its plan of adding 700,000 to its current sales of 2.6 million units by 2010.
