With national selectors set to meet on Friday to determine who will lead Team India on a tour of Zimbabwe this month, many are expecting that Sourav Ganguly will be reinstated as the captain after Rahul Dravid’s poor showing in Sri Lanka. Dravid replaced Ganguly after the former captain batted poorly in a home series against Pakistan and a run-in with officials that resulted in a four game suspension. Now, after Dravid’s leadership failed to beat a second-string West Indies squad twice out of five games, it’s expected that Ganguly will be back in control. Coach Greg Chappell said he would not be at the meeting to pick the captain, but will meet with the captain the next day to pick a lineup for the Zimbabwe tour.
