There’s one thing about India that Bill Clinton can’t stomach. On a private visit to Lucknow, the former US President declined to sample a mouth-watering Mughlai spread laid out in his honour.

Five-star chefs from Delhi, Lucknow and Kolkata were left twiddling their thumbs in despair after American officials accompanying Clinton ordered red meat dishes off the table. The F&B manager at the Taj Residency was told that the visiting dignitary had become very selective about his diet since his operation last year. Clinton had undergone a quadruple heart bypass surgery in September 2004 after complaining of chest pains and shortness of breath.

Those poor chefs! Can you imagine how they must have felt? The best chefs in Delhi all prepare this lavish feast, I’m sure they worked very, very hard on it, and Clinton sends it all back! Oh man. I mean, if he doesn’t eat red meat anymore he doesn’t eat red meat anymore, but still. They must have been so humiliated.
