After a night on the tiles, have a ‘morning after’ pill

Lauded as an “emergency contraceptive,” the morning after pill has recently arrived in India. Health officials say that the pill could cut down abortions, many of which are performed without the suitable training or facilities. Others fear that the pill, which is to be taken after intercourse, may encourage irresponsible activities, i.e. screwing every and any guy in town. I tend to fall on the side of the health officials, who probably know what’s good for you and what’s not. I’ll give Indian girls the benefit of the doubt on this one. Besides, it may be necessary for women to access the pill in, well, an emergency, for instance if a contraceptive breaks, or in the event of a rape.
