Only in India: Jailed mob boss prepares to launch career in Bollywood

According to the Hindustan Times, Babloo Srivastava, the notorious mafia don allegedly responsible for countless murders and abductions, is confident that he will soon be a Bollywood star. The don, currently in jail, is planning to star in a self-written crime thriller that will show how organized crime functions in India in cooperation with corrupt politicians. This news comes fresh after Babloo is released from psychiatric watch, wherein he reportedly faked a mental illness for several months.

A man after my own heart, he plans to cast a beautiful actress as heroine opposite himself, he says, because in real life many attractive women have been in his gang.

One might ask how he hopes to write and perform in a full length Bollywood feature while behind bars, but don’t fret. Babloo hopes the judge will let him make bail to produce the film because of its social relevance. He calls it a must-see movie for Indian police because it exposes loop holes in the law that dangerous criminals abuse every day. Although, I wonder, couldn’t he just… you know… tell the police these about these important law violations and loopholes directly without making a summer crime thriller? Call me crazy.
