A day after upsetting the number one seed, Sania Mirza fell in the Semi finals to third-seeded GOLOVIN Tatiana[FRA]. The two-set match was over practically before it began, Mirza losing twice consecutively, 2-6, 4-6. Later that day Mirza lost a doubles match against seeded no. 2 DULKO Gisela[ARG] / KIRILENKO Maria[RUS] by 1-6, 4-6.

And thus ends the Japan Open for India.
