Bollywood over broadband?
A couple brits are making some big waves with a new service, Bollywood.tv. The website is the first of its kind; it offers high-quality, full feature-length Bollywood movies over a broadband connection. For just 10 pounds a month, you can download as much as your web connection can gulp down.
Content director Mohan Thariyan said: “We are delighted to be unveiling a unique service that will make the best of Bollywood available to millions of fans in living rooms around the world.”
His business partner Nigel Regan added: “The quality of the movies is superb, and you would never know you were not watching a DVD. Without any doubt at all, this makes Bollywood more accessible than ever before.”
As the films will be streamed over a broadband connection, they say that DVD quality films can be seen without the need to wait or download glitches. The company has devised its own software to deliver the films.
So far, there are only 65 titles to choose from, but hundreds are on the list to be added. It may not be a lot, but it is a start. Bollywood is also the biggest producer of film in the world, and now it can be enjoyed by anyone anywhere. Pretty cool.
