Bus driver becomes real-life Bollywood Hero

A New Delhi bus driver saved his own life and the lives of dozens of passengers when he threw a bomb out of his bus Friday. The driver, Kuldeep Singh, said that if it hadn’t been for Bollywood movies he would not have been able to recognize the bomb: a ticking clock attached via colorful wires to explosive materials.

A passenger in his 20s refused to buy a ticket and got off, leaving behind a large black bag. When some of the 40 passengers raised an alarm, Singh and the conductor, Budh Prakash, examined it and ordered the bus evacuated.

“Seeing the wires and the clock, I realized it was a bomb. I was about to get down after throwing the bag out of the bus, but could not escape injury as the bomb went off,” Singh was quoted as saying while recovering in a New Delhi hospital.

The hospital staff than proceeded to engage in an elaborate, highly-choreographed dance item while golden confetti rained from the sky.
