According to Bollywood World, nobody but Amitabh will do for Deeap’s most ambitious film yet!

In filmmaker Deepa Mehta’s words, no one except superstar Amitabh Bachchan can play the lead role in her next movie.

The Toronto-based filmmaker is basking in the success of her movie Water in Canada and at the film festival circuits.

And now, Deepa Mehta is planning to start what she calls the most ambitious and expensive project of her filmmaking career, a movie titled Kamagata Maru. And to play the lead role in the movie, Deepa is hoping to cast the Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

An IANS report quotes Mehta as saying: “The lead in my film ‘Kamagata Maru’ can be played by no other actor except Bachchan…The hero of my most ambitious and expensive film has to be a man of substance, stature and wisdom. I can’t think of anyone else but Bachchan.”

However, it really remains to be seen whether Bachchan will give his nod to the project, given the fact that the superstar seems to have decided to do very selective movies after his recent illness.

But, Mehta’s ‘Kamagata Maru’ is a special project to be made on an international level. Mehta is already learnt to have cast John Abraham and Seema Biswas for the movie.

The film will also have the charismatic British actor, Terence Stamp, playing a lawyer.

Mehta hopes to start shooting for the movie in the coming months. Only, consent from Mr. Bachchan is awaited.
