Kim Sharma and Shamita Shetty: Catfight?
Rumors have been flying about a confrontation between Shamita Shetty and Kim Sharma. Apparently, while Kim was out at a nightclub with her boyfriend, cricketer Yuvraj Singh, Shamita and her friends approached the pair and began to chat with Yuvraj. A mole described the ensuing situation as follows: “After a point Kim, who felt Shamita was getting too close to Yuvraj, lost her cool. Then, she showed her the finger and told her in no uncertain terms to back off!”
But did it happen? The two actresses, who according to other sources have never gotten along since their debut in “Mohabattein” , won’t even agree on whether or not they disagreed.
Shamita Shetty, on the receiving end of the alleged ill-will, vehemently denies that the event ever occured. According to Shetty, the rumor was “worse than fiction.” “I’m not a cat. I don’t indulge in cat-fights,” she laughed, before clearly stating that “there was no conversation with Mr Yuvraj Singh. I knew he and Kim were there. But I didn’t run into them at any point in the evening. And there was certainly no finger shown by Ms Kim Sharma at me.”
Kim, meanwhile, makes no attempt to deny the incident. Though the rumored agressor would likely take on a more negative sheen than her rival, Sharma seems either unconcerned about the rumor’s effect or still rancorous enough to let it stand. Her only statement was that “Shamita Shetty is the most inconsequential person for me. She has always been unimportant to me. I’m a chilled out person and nothing can affect me.”
How can this be explained? In her statement, Shetty emphasized the importance of her work as the basis of her reputation. Perhaps her upcoming shoot for “Cash,” as mentioned in her interview, makes her nervous about any tarnish on her image, fabrication or not. On the other hand, Sharma’s other recent appearance in the news, for putting and end to her Maxim shoot after being asked to pose nude, hardly displays a consistent string of bad-girl behaviour.
Only the girls–and Singh–know. We can only rest assured that the subsequent furore is probably greater and more entertaining than the event itself.
